Steven John Hamper, known as Billy Childish (Chatham, December 1, 1959), is a musician, painter, poet, writer and photographer known for his prolific work and explicit.

In his works he recounted in detail his love life and sexual abuse during childhood. He has published over one hundred albums under various pseudonyms both solo and as part of many groups including Milkshakes, The Mighty Caesars and Blackhands. In addition to Billy Childish, has also used other aliases such as William Charlie Hamper, Hamper Bill, Bill Hamper-Childish, Guy Hamper, Jack Ketch, Gus Claudius and Danger Bill Henderson.
